Playing again with lighting. There are only 2 humans who live in my house, me included, so often if I want to practice with a human it means turning the camera on myself- which I am still no comfortable with. After spending the afternoon at this, with a few different set-ups, I think I’m uncomfortable now because what I see in the images I capture in no way resembles my residual self image. I think it happens to us all as we get older and our bodies change. My face is both mine and someone else’s.

Today’s explorations were about use of a ring light, white balance or light temperature in the editing, depth of field with the ring light set-up and use of the Canon Connect app to remotely capture images of myself- a hit and miss process that still requires a little practice. What we’ve got here are the SOCC images alongside the edited images.
